Microsoft Senior Technical Evangelist, Symon Perriman, teamed up with Concurrency’s Chicago-area Regional Team Lead and Microsoft MVP, Annur Sumar, to deliver this presentation at Microsoft Management Summit 2013 in Las Vegas on April 10.

Perriman and Sumar talked about delivering IT as a service by leveraging the eight components of System Center 2012: Operations Manager, Orchestrator, Service Manager, Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, Data Protection Manager, App Controller, and Endpoint Protection. The presentation covers System Center 2012 infrastructure, IT services and automation, applications, and extending System Center with Windows Azure.

System Center High-Availability. Use System Center 2012 high–availability features to automate and manage your highly–virtualized datacenter. In addition to server and database deployments, System Center Server HA solutions are addressed.

Infrastructure. Deployments available in Virtual Machine Manager hold solutions for managing clusters, multiple hypervisor support, automated update management, dynamic optimization, cross-platform visibility, SCOM extensibility, network monitoring, hyper-V VM protection, continuous backup and protection, element and data center failures, and preparing your infrastructure for continual availability.

IT Services & Automation. See how Service Manager and Orchestrator work together to create standardized service delivery and automation, service requests, service monitoring and recovery, and integration packs, including automating service deployments for continual availability.

Applications. Operations Manager provides a complete applications monitoring solution, including application monitoring across clouds and on-premise global service monitoring, while the consistent application configuration of Virtual Machine Manager allows for application maintenance without downtime.

Extending System Center with Windows Azure. System Center integration with Azure allows you to move, manage, and monitor your on-premise infrastructure in the cloud. With continuous backup and protection from Data Protection Manager, your business solutions are always available.
