Author by Nathan Lasnoski

Video 3 of 6 in this series on System Center 2012 SP1 is all about Configuration Manager 2012, the most widely deployed component of System Center. Infrastructure Practice Lead, Nate Lasnoski, discusses the role of Configuration Manager and provides an overview of the new, user-friendly interface. The role of Configuration Manager: This System Center tool provides client device management and application deployment, application inventory management, and BYOD management with InTune. Direct management on premise allows for application deployment, hardware inventory, and software inventory. SP1: it’s not just for Windows anymore. A major benefit of Service Pack 1 is its compatibility with a variety of data and devices. InTune gives more control over BYOD management, including managing servers and client devices in one place, through SCSM. SP1 also eliminates third party products that have to be managed—such as power management, update management, firewalls, and endpoint protection—by bringing all applications under a single management tool.
