Encrypted Container using BitLocker and VHD

Author by Shannon Fritz

I've talked with some people who have been using third party tools like TrueCrypt to make a container file (tutorial) which allows them to store files securely in what is essentially a virtual hard drive. It also lets them do things like only encrypt some of the content stored on a usb drive instead of the whole thing, or save the container in a cloud storage solution like SkyDrive yet access the content very easily. That got me thinking, Windows 8 can natively mount VHDs now, and BitLocker disk encryption is now included with Professional edition... This means we can accomplish the same thing by using built-in features of Windows! So I made a short video to show how it works. [youtube] N'joy!
